I loved this cat right away, and wanted to wait b/c it's fur looked so complicated. The way it was photographed gave the fur a blueish tint that I didn't feel like emulating, so I stuck with greys and tried to get the other colors fairly close. As for anatomy issues, the fur wasn't exact, and the head is too large/wide, but it couldn't really be helped.
After saving it so many times (I can't sit there for 3 hours easily, nevermind 11...), the compression was eh, you can see the white specs on it's face. Some of the black started turning green; I fixed some but it's really widespread. The eyes got dark, but that is just fine with me since it really turned into a different cat.
I love how the top of the lantern (last thing I did) looks real. I didn't know I could do that.
So whatever, I'm tired. This was mostly the result of typical teenage depression/apathy/stress anyway, but it was fun at certain parts.
I don't know how I'd copy and paste the pic to trace over it in oekaki, so I have to sketch the proportions first. I suppose it would be ok to draw over certain ones and add stuff in, but I'd think that to be more photomanipulation.
fucken a XD this is sooo gorgeous... i really love all teht exture and work you put into doing the fur and clunkiness of the pages and everything @_@ its one of the things i admire the most in some pictures... since there is a small lantern, maybe you could do a bit more yellowish lighting on soome parts of the fur around that area if you do one like this next time... unless its like that in the ref?... (if its even there, since my computer wont let me view it for soome reason.) anyways.. gorgeous work all in all, so detailive. <3

A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
In this article you will find many thumbnails of the sun in different forms, all photography featured here by the club feature-me. Please show your support for these artists and their work and the article so that more people can see their work.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
